Building Climate Literacy Across Australia
Through Climate Fresk - an interactive, collaborative workshop grounded in IPCC science - we help Australians understand the causes and consequences of climate change, and move from awareness to action.
Support climate literacy with a donation - every contribution makes a difference.
Our goal is to equip Australians with a clear, science-based understanding of climate change.
and empower them to take meaningful, collective action - building a liveable future with urgency and agency.
Climate change is the defining issue of our time.
Yet many people feel overwhelmed and unsure how the science connects to their lives or what they can do to make a difference.
People For Nature, a citizen-led charity empowering action for nature and climate, is working to make high-quality climate education accessible to all Australians — not just those with budgets.
Through Climate Fresk, a globally trusted climate science workshop, we bring evidence-based learning into communities, schools and organisations across the country.
What Is Climate Fresk?
Climate Fresk is a collaborative climate education workshop developed on the science of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), grounded in the world’s most respected climate research.
Rather than presenting information in lecture format, Climate Fresk transforms scientific findings into a shared, hands‑on learning experience: participants work together to assemble a “fresk” - a visual representation of how climate change works - using 42 illustrated cards that represent causes, effects and societal responses.

Why this matters now

Understanding climate change is one thing - acting on it is another.
Too often, climate education:
- Feels confusing, too technical or distant
- Leaves people anxious instead of motivated
- Fails to connect knowledge with action

People For Nature is committed to closing that gap.
We want to bring Climate Fresk to:
- Regional communities in Queensland and across Australia
- Schools, universities and youth groups
- Local councils, businesses and community organisations
But to do that at scale, we need your support.
As the official Country Partner of Climate Fresk in Australia, People For Nature leads the delivery and growth of this globally recognised climate education workshop nationwide. Supported by a dedicated network of volunteer facilitators and leaders, we are scaling our impact to reach more communities, schools and organisations across the country.
Your contribution will directly support the expansion of Climate Fresk Australia by funding outreach and promotion, including awareness campaigns and the development of marketing materials, flyers, videos and social media content. It will also help deliver subsidised workshops for schools, youth groups and local communities, as well as cover facilitator travel costs to reach regional areas. In addition, your support will strengthen our infrastructure by enabling the training of new volunteer facilitators and providing essential workshop resources, facilitator toolkits and support systems. Every dollar helps us reach more people with high-quality climate education that builds understanding and drives meaningful action.
Yes, donations to our organisation are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law. You will receive a confirmation email with a receipt for your records, which you can use for tax purposes.
There are many ways to support Climate Fresk Australia beyond financial contributions. You can train as a volunteer facilitator and lead workshops in your community, host a workshop for your local group, school or workplace, or partner with us as a school, business or organisation.
